Surprising Uses of Bucket Trucks

When people think about bucket trucks, they often assume that they are only useful for utility repairs, such as when a telephone pole goes down. While these trucks are indeed staples in the utility industry, you may be surprised to learn how versatile these vehicles are. Below are just some of the unexpected uses of bucket trucks:
Fruit Picking
While people can use a good old-fashioned ladder to pick fruits from a tree, a bucket truck is definitely the more efficient option. After all, pickers don’t want to have to worry about their safety so they can focus all their energy in gathering the ripe fruits.

Rescuing Animals
When cats or other animals get stuck in a tree, people usually call on the fire department to rescue them. However, bucket trucks function much like fire trucks in that they hoist people up towards higher places. In a pinch, animal rescuers can use a bucket truck to rescue trapped creatures.

Hanging Up Signs
Is your town or city festival coming up? Chances are, your local council will use bucket trucks to hang up signs that announce this event.

As you can see, these handy trucks are useful in a wide variety of situations. What other uses can you think of?
