How to Keep Both Your Truck and Employees Safe

Let’s not beat around the bush: the world of construction is a dangerous place. Your workers put their safety at risk every time they show up for work. That’s why the OSHA is very strict with its safety training and guidelines (and rightfully so).

Although most of the attention on safety is aimed at employee safety, you also need to protect your other investments— bucket trucks, equipment, etc.—as well. Fortunately you can hit two birds with one stone when it comes to bucket trucks by following these tips:

Level Field

Always remind your employees to park bucket trucks on a level surface before operating the bucket. Parking on uneven ground can cause the bucket truck to tip over to one side at the slightest provocation.

Warning Systems

Warning signs should be placed around the truck while it is in use. This is especially important if the worksite is along a busy street or highway. Warning lights should be left on at all times, especially if employees have to drive at night.

These safety tips extend beyond your property. Following these tips when using rental bucket trucks can also help you build trust with a rental service. At the same time, you can avoid having to replace an entire bucket truck.
